The Music Thing Workshop System
A complete modular synth that's smaller than a hardback book
I’m very pleased to finally share this properly with all of you. This is what I’ve been working on since August 2023, which many of the people on this mailing list have contributed to, supported, tested, coded and advised me on.
The Music Thing Modular Workshop System is a complete standalone DIY modular synth. It is slightly smaller than a hardback book. It comes in a foam-lined hard case. And it includes a powerful open audio computer that runs code from tiny program cards.
It will be available exclusively as a DIY kit from Thonk, with the first small batch arriving before the end of 2024, costing around £400.
